The Tally import problem

Tally imports purchase data from Excel and CSV — but someone has to create that spreadsheet first. For firms receiving 200+ vendor invoices monthly, that spreadsheet is the bottleneck.

From vendor PDF to Tally-ready Excel

InvoiceForge exports Excel files with columns aligned to common Tally import templates: party ledger, voucher type, date, reference, amount, and GST tax columns. Upload your vendor PDFs, review extracted data, and download the combined file.

Column mapping in Tally

On first import, map Excel columns to Tally fields and save the template. Recurring vendors reuse the same mapping — only the row data changes each month.

  • Map vendor name → Party Ledger
  • Map invoice number → Reference / Bill No.
  • Map invoice date → Voucher Date
  • Map tax columns → GST duty ledgers

Bulk processing for month-end

Pro and Business plans support bulk upload of up to 50 invoices per batch. Process an entire client's folder, export one Excel file, and import once into Tally. What used to take a full day of typing becomes a one-hour review-and-import workflow.
